Looking for lighter weight good denim selvedge jeans, deep indigo. Any ideas re: brand? Had Levi's 501 1947 but too heavy. I like the look of Drakes. Size 34/36 length 32". Thanks.

The LVC 1947 is around 14oz. That's already considered lightweight unfortunately! You might want to look at some Italian makers instead. COF has a pair in 13oz and their cuts are very similar to what you'd find at Levi's.

The rise on those is pretty high. Are you looking for a high rise?

At that price point, you have many options and should be able to get something really good. I would check out Self Edge, Blue in Green, and Blue Owl.

They are made by Blackhorse Lane. They have a really similar pair as one of their core models. At 14oz it's gonna be the same weight (or heavier) than the LVC 1947 but yes, the cut is different and easier to dress up.
