Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Not SF slim. 6'2", 180. I think this will fit similar to the 30s half belt. Not crazy slim but the regular Highwayman is a very boxy design with a large shoulder area and arm openings. I wear a 42 in most everything and this is a 23" pit to pit with a 21.5" waist opening with side cinchers. Arms are greatly trimmed down with higher arm holes. Dimensions look perfect for me but you never know until you put it on how a jacket will fit your body. This is the Italian HH so it's around 3 oz and fairly supple out of the box.

Nice! I have been wanting to see fit pics of the slimmer versions. Can you post some when you get it?

I will get pics up tomorrow when it arrives. If the forums are any indication they haven't sold that many of the new premier patterned items.

Really? One would think that a slim fit pattern would sell quite good, specially nowadays when slim fit is what everyone wants.

Well Aero caters to both crowds and many of their historical patterns are already fairly slim designs. The Board Racer does sell very well but the Highwayman design is fairly iconic and the reaction was mixed to the intro of a slimmed down version, even though this design can probably just be considered a brand new jacket as even the collar is new.

This is interesting, and definitely speaks of the inaccuracy of height and weight alone to determine size. I am 5'11", 180 lbs, and I fit well (slim but well) into a size 38 in most Aero jackets. I have a size 40 Aeromarine, but there is too much material around the armpits and in the back - and I am not that small of a guy. My chest is about 40.5", and I definitely have some lats and traps - nothing that you would write home about, but enough that in most Japanese brands, I am an L or greater, to avoid hulking out of clothes (apparently, Japanese guys don't do rows or pullups, ever). Not gonna lie, I could/should lose 10 lbs off my midsection, but even so, that would bring me to 170. Maybe 165 if I was to get cut (not going to happen), but that would not change my dimensions that much. I've never tried on the highwayman, so it's hard for me to make an accurate assessment, I suppose.

@ChrisGold - you want to start such a thread? I'd be happy to contribute what I can, though I'm not an Aero expert, by any means. Maybe a thread on the more traditional leather jackets, in general, to capture all that information and that membership?

I think that's a great idea, there are certainly members here who are interested in the more traditional / workwear / moto jackets. Let me give it some thought and I would value your input as to what it should encompass. I certainly have enough photos and experience to give it a jump start at least.

Interesting takes on what looks like a very early riding jacket and a A-2 hybrid. Not sure that I love the idea of the M-65 (well, M64, it looks like, but whatever) in suede. I would seriously look at that first jacket if I hadn't read the words "soft lamb suede" and had read the words "3.5 ounce reverse horse" instead.
