the Y2 in bull hide

It's crazy, but I like it a lot. The heavily textured leather is kinda balanced out by the simplicity of the design.

So you can cinch the waist vs the torso

Yeah I get why they’re there, it’s just that to me that jacket is a half belt, and moving the cinches down makes it no longer have the classic half belt back shape, like the V from shoulders to waist then slight flair towards hem is gone and now it’s just a slim straight looking half belt with a slight taper at best.

Idk if that makes sense and don’t get me wrong because I’m not knocking it or think it looks bad, it’s just kinda odd to me and for a half belt I prefer the V shape with a slight bottom flair.

I didn’t fret over the leather, to be honest. I showed him d4nimal’s fit pic and told him “I want this jacket”.

I’m far less concerned about the leather than most over at FL or even here. I simply asked what leather it was and he said calf, but I know he also uses horse and goat.

I already warned some people in FL asking me about the jacket, I don’t think anyone should expect some super heavy leather from this brand, it just wouldn’t be congruous with the 70s style IMO.

He does seem to do some hand dyeing by looking at his Instagram.

FWIW I love the leather as it requires zero break in while still feeling substantial.

Yeah I’m not too concerned about super heavy or thick leather, I’m concerned about the color because if it were to be black or dark brown I’d go blindly but dark green is trickier and I want something in the dark forest to dark olive range, also being flat, having variations or being very oily with pull-up would sway my decision.

Maybe I should just wait till I visit so I can take measurements, pick the design and leather all in person, currently I’m still not sure which design to go with.

Yeah, a lot of this is personal preference stuff at the end of the day. I see what you are saying though

I’d wear the sh*t out of a jacket in this colour.

Nice! I hadn’t seen that color and that’s pretty close to what I’m looking for.

Problem is drape and lack of comfort. Pattern looks good though.

Exactly, I liked it too, just not with that collar, but once I saw a real life fit pic it just looked soo uncomfortable and I doubt it would ever drape at all, let alone nicely.

Just zoom in on that red circle and the armpit/chest area on the other side, and idk what the back of the shoulders looks like but I assume it’s not looking neat.

Do y'alls know about trypophobia with that grain?

It bubbles on the shoulders and then slowly works its way down?

After going through Electric Leather Studio's Instagram, I'm really impressed with the craftsmanship. Just super clean and impeccable work. Not my style, but just consistently beautifully constructed and great color. Like this

Indeed, and it must be a lot of work to sew all those panels, and do it well.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
