There are quite a few threads about leather jackets over in SW&D, but I haven't seen any over in this forum. Anyone like to contribute some classic leather jackets here?

I've always been a huge fan of leather sport coats and am absolutely in love with suede ones. I haven't had much finding them at a price point I like i.e. under $90. I did thrift this lovely coat, but it was messed up by the cleaners unfortunately.

This was taken back in 2012. I probably would have styled it differently in hindsight.

I've got a black leather blazer. I think I will be donating it. It just seems very hard to pull off.

I think black blazers are hard to pull off in general. Leather makes it even harder. I think brown is really the way to go in terms of a suede/leather sport coat.

I really like this style of jacket that is a cross between outerwear and a blazer cut. You could wear it with nice trousers and a tie or your favorite jeans and a scarf. With the trend in all major cities being more and more casual, I think this is an excellent option to a typical tailored jacket. You could wear this into any business casual office and be the best dressed in the place. Note that this one (from an Italian leather maker called GIMO's and available at Khaki's Carmel) has a zippered breast pocket, elbow patch stitching and working cuff button holes. And, something about a suede jacket almost begs for a great scarf like this one from Drakes.

I was thinking more like Steve McQueen in The Great Escape, or Fassbender in Days of Future Past.

McQueen wore a Type A-2 jacket in The Great Escape. Likely real USAAF surplus given the date of the film. The earliest were horsehide. As the war progressed goat and cowhide were also used. Manufacturers were plentiful and specs were loose enough to result in variations in shades of brown, collar size, etc.

I think a good fitting waist length leather jacket is very flattering for any guy. I already have one that I love in a brown pebble grain leather, but it is a bit more casual style with a sheepskin collar. So my next one will be like the one I posted above, more blazer-like and in suede.
