Johnston & Murphy KARNES CAP TOE BOOT: good for winter?

I don't own them. From the description they are just leather lined so don't expect added warmth - except the general added warmth of a boot covering ankles instead of nothing. It has a rubber lug sole so that should help in the snow and ice without getting soaked like leather. Recognize though that it's still an ordinary leather upper with no special weatherproofing technology so if you are outside long enough for the upper to get wet it will take a couple days to dry out.

Having said that - no lug sole boot looks good with a suit IMO. Fine for the commute TO the office. But I wouldn't walk around the office with lug soled boots and a suit on.

I don't have to trudge through snow so I prefer swims over-shoes in winter. If I were doing a lot of walking they might not work well but I much prefer doing that vs. wearing rugged boots in the office throughout winter.
