It honestly looks like he put on weight in the arms and chest after those suits were made for him

SF made me notice something as I watched the movie yesterday:

Bond leaves the first of his 3 sleeve buttons unbuttoned.

As nice as the Tom Ford cut is, I just don't like Daniel Craig as James Bond. Just now suave enough. I prefer Pierce Brosnan and what Brioni did with him.

Mr P and Brioni together was the best ever in Bond. But as the new modern time we live in I actually think Daniel Craig is doing a great job. We don't dress like before and many of us is following the new generation of clothing.

Tom Ford that is.

I think it's a fad. It'll pass within a few years. Like 80s power suits.

Brioni and Brosnans' style is still around. Just one seen in the Bond films.

But truer to the - to quote M in Casino Royale - "blunt instrument" Fleming created.

And.. ? Nothing wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with it, I think it says a lot about his character. I just thought it was a nice little way for the costumer to give some depth to Bond through how he wears his clothing.

I don't feel I am qualified to talk about his tailoring but 'his' choice in shoes- which was a topic of some discussion in this very forum and very hyped in the shoemaker's shops and advertising as you would expect in an age of product placement- was definitely pedestrian

His shoes are (or so they say) "Benchgrade" range Crockett & Jones which is essentially an entry level quality shoe (selling at around £330 in the UK). He could at least have gone for the Handgrade range (around £450s) and even then he would be far from the best the UK has to offer in RTW shoes. I assume the choice of using Benchgrades was a commercial decision as the typical Bond-lead new C&J customer would not be in the habit of spending 'too much money' in shoes

Overcoat is way too short. Best overcoat was Brosnan in "world is not enough".
Can't help but thinking of that new Men's Warehouse commercial every time I see a photo of Craig in this movie. The one where he's driving down the street talking about a modern suit for the modern man...

Nothing wrong with a 3/4 length coat. The DB overcoat at the end of the last Bond was great as well.

330 GBP for a pair of shoes is "too much money" for most people.
