^ Same. Even if last time the response was not what I hoped to hear (Wolf 21 fiasco, which was not a CS issue but something else, though damaging enough that left me looking at t-henri since and I’ve been seriously considering a Nettuno over anything JMM has put out lately).

Their new releases are really nice. They don't have the huge range that JMM do, but they are going full steam on impeccable detailing. I am contemplating my third purchase

I’ve seen a pair of T Henris that I really like. Retail is slightly less than comparable JMMs so I’m contemplating. Ridiculous as this seems I almost feel like I’m cheating!😀 Anyone else feel that guilt? I tried earlier with a pair of chunky Cutler and Gross - now for sale on eBay as they just weren’t right.

The pair of TH I’m looking at claims to be 8mm fronts, 5mm temples. I know JMMs ‘claim’ to be 10 mm but get whittled down with shaping and bevels etc. Anyone whose tried on TH - is the difference in thickness and weight noticeable?

The only guilt I suffer from sniffing around other brands is when I come in here and mention a competitor. Most folk frequenting this thread are all cool but hardcore JMM whereas I've kinda faded recently as nothing is tickling my fancy, hence I haven't purchased anything JMM for a while, yet I've dipped my toe into the opposition's pool....twice already 🫣

My T-H Sian frames are indeed chunky (especially the temples) but I don't think they'd be any heavier by comparison to say an Enzo, Donato or Yves >> which are some of the most comfy frames I've worn.

The quality of T Henri is comparable to that of JMM; the internal temple frames are all perfectly aligned to the millimeter. I also find that the lens filters are better than those of JMM... The only thing that isn't up to par is the packaging.

May I ask why you say this?

Their packaging may not be as substantial as JMM, but from what I've seen and held in my hand the craftsmanship and print production is top notch.

T Henri has changed their packaging in the latest years; however, the JMM one gives me more of a quality feel and is also more visually appealing since the red box has a silky texture. Even the JMM eyewear case is of higher quality.

Some good replies about TH there fellas thanks.
Their AD page says TH is in my ‘local’ (40 minute drive) shop and I’m briefly in NYC next week so may have a chance to try some on there soon too.

At first glance it seems that TH is definitely taking their cues from JMM … but maybe doing it better? (Subjective of course). I’m not much bothered about packaging as they all go in the top shelf of my closet anyway. I’m more impressed with things like more creative exposed wiring than the boring parallel lines of JMM.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
