OK. But the point of my post was that the JMM Scarface sunglasses clearly were NOT inspired by these. They are not even aviators.

They look like they were inspired by the sunglasses worn by the hit man that killed Tony Montana at the end of the movie. The guy in the pic I attached at the bottom of the post.

Here is the pic of Scarface on the JMM website. Just so there's no confusion, the guy on the left is wearing the Scarface, and the woman is wearing the Ritz.

Wait these are the “Scarface” models?!!

This whole "racing" vibe that JMM has been on lately hasn't resulted in anything good.
I've been wanting a new pair after selling my Belize but there's just not been anything that interesting in over a year.

Yes. 3 new models coming out. Scarface on the man in the picture, Ritz on the woman in the picture, and Hollywood, not pictured. But those are optical.

The Hollywood will be popular with the fancy serial killers.

Quentin Hickory Fade.

Another very classic and balanced frame in the Fellini style.

Initially I was perplexed about the "hammer' front pins, but, although I'm still not a fan, I almost don't notice them.

Actually, nothing I love, no coup de coeur, although I would like to see more fit pictures.

They seem to use old colourways with new names, Militaire for Rover, Cognac for Camel, Tortoise for Agar. Noir is solid black also on the temples.
The Ritz is nice. It's like the Acoma, without all the fancy stuff on the temples, which to me, is a good thing. I bought the Cognac/Camel.

I was a bit surprised that there were no small batches this time.

Yeah so no. I’m a feller who really misses the ‘80s. It was a wonderfully magical time, right. Near perfect. I’m very happy to see wire “sunglasses” frames become stylish again as opticals, but it also chaps my arse something fierce, right, when I see all these young whipper snappers using the style from an era that they so deride. It seems very disingenuous and downright hypocritical. I guess I’m conflicted. I like that the style is back, right, but I don’t like how it was brought back. AIWAT?

Also I just noticed this when reading up on the Ritz Noirs

What exactly do they mean by “not suitable for driving?” Never seen that warning before.

None of the new models is for me but I can see the gold Scarface looking cool in the right setting/outfit/guy. It’s very different from the rest of JMM models.
