Anyone own the Ascari and a Prudhon, Walker, Fellini, or Molino?

Wondering on the fit of the Ascari compared to some other frames I’m familiar with. Might be willing to try the Ascari as an optical.

The Sandro also looks tempting for a daily optical.

Thanks!

I own them all, besides the Prudhon, but as sunglasses. As optical they could work, but you need to try them on. Based on your previous fits, I'd say Ascari and Sandro could suit, as well as the classic Molino and Fellini. The Walker could be too large.

My take…… any of the frames could work depending on colour. The Prudhon is an RX designed frame ie. Never sold as sunglasses(to my knowledge). The Fellini would be least favourable as it’s heavy in appearance. the Molino is a classic and would work well. Jeff’s are good as RX although not on your list, but a better form of Fellini, similar temples.
unsure about Ascari or Walker, have my doubts.

Thanks.

To clarify, I have worn Prudhon, Molino, Fellini, Jax, Walker, and Molino 55 frames as opticals in the past.

I currently wear the Plaza and Akoni Orion as opticals.

Not sure if the Ascari would be much different. Might not be worth the hunt for an older frame. As much as I want to try other brands, I keep coming back to JMM.

Anyone know how the Rawlins fit compared to Dealan, Ichikawa or Fellinis? I have these three, with regular Dealan being a smidge tight and the other two being good fits. Surprisingly Ichikawa works well for me on my big head even with its “medium” size measurements. On paper Rawlins would typically be small for me.

TWD has Dealan and Rawlins I believe, maybe he’ll chime in….

Yeah the fit is similar.
I have Rawlins, Dealans, Molino and I’d say the fit and look is similar across all three. If you want specific ‘total width’ measurements let me know and I’ll post ‘em up. Sometimes the measurements on the website aren’t always accurate.

Thank you sir. Rawlins may be too small for my noggin then. Nothing beats trying them on though. Will see if I can find them.

I'm in the same boat as you with the other frames - Dealan's a bit too small, but Fellini and Ichikawa feel pretty solid after adjustments. Jeff is my best fitting frame out of the thicker acetate models. Rawlins fits me pretty well. Temples are nice and long so you have a good range for adjustment. I'd give them a try.

Well there was just a knock at the door and Santa came early for me, delivering my red Dealans from Spain! So that gives me a chance to respond right here …

Dealans are in fact slightly wider at the longest measurement - approx 144 mm v 138 Rawlins but this is misleading as the cat eye shape makes the acetate flare out a bit at the top of the frame.

Strangely the Rawlins ‘feel’ a little more looser / wider on the face than the Dealans, perhaps the inner measurement mitigates this or perhaps cos the acetate is a bit more sculpted and less blocky.

Ultimately though if it’s a matter of subtleties you’re probably gonna have to try them on especially if you’re about to sink north of $1.8 k into them.

I got my Rawlins at Salle in Phipps Plaza in Atlanta. Nicole was very helpful. I tried a different colour on and they ordered them in black from a partner store and sent them direct to Zoomer to get darker lenses put in. Plan B was a different LF optical frame whose name I forget but they were shorter and wider so if Rawlins don’t work and you need wider frames seek those out. Good luck!
