I’m keeping the “Balzac” off of my face…however I’m thinking these Root Beers might be a go for me!

Picked these up from Anthony Aiden a few weeks back. A departure for me as spend most days in one of my Montana’s or Cortina’s. Really happy with them and lenses perfect for even bright cloudy days. View attachment 1781124

hi @Jsimpson02 , these look fantastic on you. i m on the fence to purchase one (as my first JMM) my wardrobe is mainly earth tone hence your "fit pic" drawn me to this style & color. how is this frame/color in terms of versatility? this will be the most expensive frames i own to date so i want to make sure i get the most cost per wear. much appreciated!

Do any of these frames work for smaller faces? I'm intrigued by JMMs, but they all seem massive to me and like they would swallow my face up.

For reference I wear OP O'Malley eyeglasses in 45mm and Persol 649 sunglasses in 49mm (which they don't even make anymore).

Absolutely - lots of styles for narrow/smaller faces. I'm sure others will chime in with more specific suggestions but it's definitely worth stopping into a local retailer to try a variety of frames if there's one nearby.

Going by Lens size doesn’t really help, but can be a starting point.overall frame width is another dimension that helps, and JMM are now specifying this on their website.

nothing beats trying them on and getting opinions though.…..take some pics and post em here (if you have the nerve), people are pretty helpful

all part of the fun.

49mm is my ideal frame size, and I wear a lot of JMM. I would say that if you're comfortable wearing 49mm in other lines, there are probably more models in the JMM line that will fit you than you might think.

That said, if you definitely want to steer clear of the large frames, then I would try

1. Scarpa: This is a metal frame and presented online as sunglasses, but I think they actually work best as opticals

2. Zephirin: Another one of their smaller designs. It comes in two sizes.

3. Mollino: This is large, but not too large, and has a slightly Wayfarer shape that I think works for almost anyone. If you like CM, this frame also goes well with CM outfits because it has a more classic vibe.

4. Fellini: If you like the Mollino, you will also want to try the Fellini, which s basically the Mollino but with a little more edge.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
