Not crazy about Taos but literally moments ago just took delivery of Dealans in lapis. Fit was never an issue as this is my eighth Dealan (so much for my rule of never repeating a frame or a colour!!) but I love this colour, exactly what I’ve been hoping for from JMM for ages.

In other news I now have a pair of RB wayfarers in a very similar lapis blue colour for sale!😁
It’s crazy when you think about it that I have/had a pair of shades that were perfectly decent which I’ve now upgraded to a similar pair that cost 9 times as much and 99 percent of the general public wouldn’t know the difference. Is that my gullibility? The power of advertising / neblen effect? Just pure insanity?
All I know is that I view RayBans as a gateway drug and they just feel so feeble to me after getting used to the chunky JMM 10mm acetate!
Yeah and another thing comparing Dealans to classic Wayfarers … Wayfarers were obviously the inspiration but I’m so glad that JMM didn’t follow them with that ridiculously aggressive panto angle. I suppose we tolerated it from RB as they were just such a classic style but it’s not a good look and doesn’t feel very comfortable for those of us with high cheek bones having the frames push in on your cheeks. As you know, I'm not a fan, but you have perfectly styled them.
Once you get used to thick acetate, you'll hardly go back.
Got my pair in Sacramento in today. Loved them in the photos and love them in person.Has anyone ordered/purchased an Epoxy Enzo and received them? On the website they seem to be live but the galleries don’t have them yet
Agreed with the color observations. For various, presumably electromagnetic reasons, the temples photograph darker but are indeed the same color as the rest of the frame—got the Vendome in Sac. The only one with truly mismatched temples would seem to be the Gris.Got my pair in Sacramento in today. Loved them in the photos and love them in person.
I know there was a picture a few pages back of the Dealans that made the colors look very bright and plain but the color is much closer to the typical JMM look that some bemoan in that they often appear much closer to black, but when the light hits them you get a very uniform but still deep green instead of the usual crystalline look. It's very nice and, at least with the Sacramento, the temples don't appear to be differently colored than the front of the frames though they may actually be. Tomorrow in the sunlight will tell the tale there.
I purchased them off the website, no special circumstances. I was pretty surprised that they had already shipped as well. I think I've managed to get a decent set of photos of these. Curious how you snagged the frames so quickly. I’m supposing you got them from an AD? Is it a known thing that AD’s get things faster than JMM directly? If it isn’t too much trouble, post a pic, I’d like to see how they look in a non studio setting.

And, as you can hopefully see, the temples are the usual clear over base color. This may not be the case, however, for some of the crystal colorways. In even brighter sunlight they can even look a bit lighter than this, but not much. I like them, but I can see why others may not. To me you still get the depth of color that you get in many of their other usual frames, but a new look in direct light. That said, I know that this "epoxy" look as they are calling it where it's like all the pigment is right at the surface (a trend I've noticed in car finishes in the past couple of years as well) is not to everyone's taste.
