When things start to get delusional.

JMM Checkers

So according to the description, he definitely won't be taking $52,000 for these. It has to be $53,000.

Lmao this reminds me of the people selling Margiela currency wallets for 5-15k

I'm a fan of TVR Japan, and love the frames I have, but they are perpetually sold out.

This look cool as ****

You tell me TVR though and my mind goes to this

What are you guy’s favorite non JMM sunglasses? I find my self being out of the JMM honeymoon phase after 6 years haha and dusting off some of my favs from the past.

Right now it’s a two way tie between some TF Pablos (with interchangeable lenses…cool at the time) and some Margiela wrong size lens I’ve had forever

Hopefully not too far off topic here:

I have long been a wearer of Maui Jim (non-prescription) sunglasses. MJ's lenses are incredible, especially the Blue Hawaii. However, I just received a quote that adding a single vision prescription to MJ's lenses will be about $600! If I am going to spend that kind of money...

How do JMM's prescription sunglasses lenses compare to MJ's? Similarly high quality? It seems like an obvious difference is the lack of polarization. Any others? How does pricing compare?

JMM doesn't offer a prescription program like MJ does. If you want different lenses, you have to get them from a 3rd party, at which point the quality depends on that 3rd party.

Yeah seconded. My favourite high end non JMMs are a pair of Leisure Society Cortez. A sorta wayfarer-ish shape but in pewter coloured titanium with flat 2 base lenses. Very lightweight and with spring hinges so very comfortable fit.

Then I have Dita Spacecraft also with flat lenses

And for the beach I don’t take my JMMs 😀 I take Vuarnet Ice, designed for ski-ing but the polarised lenses work well on the water too

The rest of my collection is made of mostly Randolph, RayBan, Roka and Moscot which I use less and less these days since discovering JMM so I’m gradually backing away from sentimentality and one by one putting them up on eBay.

Sweet! I was contemplating a pair of those aviator style LS ones but just thought at $1600 it’s a lot of dough for a pair I wouldn’t wear that often among all my others. Even if I offloaded several of my lesser and lesser-used frames I wouldn’t come close to that price so I held off for now. Your tempting pics aren’t helping my abstinence!

I thought after spending more time ITT I'd be able to discern between frames from JMM.

Instead, it's all a blur of the same shapes to me. Everything is starting to look the same to my eye.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
