I was just going to ask about this. They sent out a 20% off one that expired last Friday. I want to get some new boring dress shirts but don't know if it's worth waiting and possibly having them sell out. Opinions?

As a corollary, can I call the phone ordering number, have them apply my student discount and have it sent to a store for pickup? End result being no shipping charges and 15% off...

I don't think you can apply your student discount on phone order. But hey...been a long ass time since I bought anything from J.Crew. I'm just waiting for the Grey Chamabry to re-stock.

Unrelated to above but... I used the yellow $25 Rewards Card from my J. Crew credit card purchases at the store the other day. Even though the small print said I could only use it with a J. Crew credit card purchase, the store manager let me use it with a debit card transaction.

J. Crew XS (not including linen/poplin) vs. BoO S (not including recent oxfords):

* sleeve length is similar... maybe JC a hair shorter
* body is slightly longer on JC (no more than an inch)
* neck is much tighter on JC (14" sounds about right)
* shoulders are more narrow on JC
* chest is similar... body tapers a little less though
* sleeves are obviously looser on JC, but but not goofy huge. They look fine and you can roll them up if it suits your fancy.

Student discount works on phone orders. Just have to give them your .edu email address.

Also, I know it has been covered, but how's the linen from Baird McNutt? Worth the new sale prices?

i picked up the camp shirt in that grey "dark cadet" color on the website on sale+student discount, and i like it. detailing is good, but the linen is a bit heavier than i thought it'd be. it's probably just because i'm not used to linen

Just received my 5" inseam shorts in the mail. Looks like I'll be showing off my stems this summer.

I have J. Crew classic, urban, and vintage fits in a 33 waist and they either measure 33 or 34 across.

Maybe we are measuring differently or JCrew changed the sizing. I buttoned them, folded on the floor and aligned the front and back. 18 inches across (36 waist) a la Blue in Green's jean measuring method. Picture: my waist is 32.5.

maybe its because I'm a card member? I don't know. It came in a little brown box with a ribbon, a jcrew catalogue and a thank you for shopping generic card.

edit: also blew the last of my gift cards on 2 pairs of the 9" lightweight shorts.

WTF. Their 'long awaited sale' has nothing new and the same prices as the sale section had previously.

I am so sick of being on their email list. Same joke after joke of sales and weak promo (free shipping on over 150 purchases)
