I've searched endlessly for raw denim answers...

I, obviously, know very little about raw denim and to be honest never really understood the hype until I recently looked into it.

I love that sheen that raw denim has, as well as its stiffness
so much so that my eyes are hurting and I've given up...can someone provide me with some answers

I bought a pair of cheap rustler rigids as my first pair. I will not/cannot stand not washing my jeans for a prolonged period; therefore, I washed them after about a weeks wear

I washed them inside out and in cold water, yet the color drastically changed...they lost that sheen and turned to a lighter blue...its okay, but nothing like they were to begin with

My question is...will this happen to all raw denim once it gets washed or only in the cheaper denim

Is there anyway to wash jeans regularly yet still maintain the color and rigidity of their original state?

I read that japanese denim keeps the color better than any other denim..does it keep it near the original unwashed color?

If there is a particular brand that comprises all of the characterisctics I've described and is under $70...please list

And lastly, does woolite dark laundry do any good in preventing the indigo from fading?

how much are rustlers? $20? x 52 weeks = $1040 45rpm jomons could end up looking cool with once a week washes and at $754, you are saving $286. That's only $63 a month for one year!

The quality of jeans you buy on sale at K-mart are not the same as the raw jeans discussed here, in any sense of the word. If you would have continued to search and learn instead of gettng pussed out because your question wasnt answered in 15 mins you would have seen that.

You gave it three hours on a Saturday night before you brought out the cursing hostility? A little patience, man. Your blood pressure must be through the roof. All raw denim will lose that initial sheen and a little of that dark cast with the first wash. A lot of the Japanese brands (Surgarcane, Eternal, Pure Blue Japan, and a few million others that you can easily find with the search button) and some of the higher-end American ones (5EP, Rag&Bone) all seem to be very stubborn when losing indigo, and will stay dark after frequent cold washes. Yes, Woolite dark will help a little bit. I can't name any brands below $70 that have the characteristics you're looking for. Doesn't mean there aren't any, but if there are, I don't know of them. The H&M Sliqs might work, but I've never heard from anyone who's washed them every few weeks, so I couldn't tell you. I will say that it's hard to believe they can afford tons of indigo dips per jean when they're already selling them for $40, but when it really comes down to it, I don't know much about the process.
