Is this suit classic or trendy?

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a suit for the warmer months as I have quite a few weddings to attend this year. This “tobacco” wool/linen blend suit from Pini Parma caught my eye:

My question is would you consider this color and fabric to be classic in nature, or is it veering into trendy territory? I really only have one proper suit right now (classic navy), and I want to build a versatile and timeless wardrobe.

For what it’s worth, I quite like the look of their blue solaro suit as well:

I know a lot of people are looking for 'timeless' but the reality that that there are definitely trends in men's tailored clothing that distinguish a suit from the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, etc.

That being said, the color and fabric are fine for a warm-weather, more casual suit. Maybe not my first choice for a second suit if versatility is important.

The main problem is that the Pini Parma suits you linked are not very classic in terms of their short jackets and slim trousers. In my size (36R jacket/30 trousers), I'd ideally want a jacket length of 29.5-30" though most RTW jackets made nowadays are closer to 29". This is 28.3", almost a full inch shorter than what I'd find wearable. The trouser hems are 7", which is very slim and close to skinny. I need 7.75" minimum for the trousers not to catch on my calves and ideally would prefer 8-8.25".

The 7" hem is a bit misleading because it's 7" at the full trousers length. Once you hem it to say 30" or less the hem is a lot closer to 7.5". Still not enough by your standards, but pretty much on par with many RTW brands.

fair point, though the trousers look pretty skinny on the model - they don't cover any part of his shoes.
