Gucci will resole their own shoes as long as you can show (1) a receipt/proof you bought the loafers from an authorized retailer and (2) haven’t had them previously resoled by another cobbler.

You can mail directly to their repair center or bring them into a Gucci store and a sales associate will take care of examining them (to ensure the soles aren’t damaged to the point where they can’t be resoled), taking pictures and having them shipped. They keep in touch with you the whole time throughout the process to let you know costs, time estimate, etc. so I prefer to do it this way rather than shipping myself. And that way it’s in their hands and they are responsible for ensuring you get them back/they don’t lose them/etc.

Hi, did you have this done? If so, were the new soles exactly as brand new Gucci’s or were they different (like a decent cobbler did their standard sole). What was the time turnaround. Thanks for any help or info you can share!

Gucci may not be to everyone’s tastes, but their bit loafer is pretty classic.

If it’s their classic bit loafer then it’s likely Bologna constructed. What gives it its flexibility and softness is also what makes it prone to wear.

Well taken care of, bologna constructed shoes will last quite some time and a competent cobbler can reconstruct the shoe. I didn’t know about Gucci doing it themselves so it’s good to know.

By the way, Gucci also makes a range of GYW shoes, so it’s not all exactly cheap crap.
