Happy you admitted it. I mean that genuinely. For the record, I never demanded anything and never claimed anything to be unjust.
I understand you didn't quite me, but seeing as the person you did quote was responding to me, I'll take me to be included in your audience. To me, injustice is the "queer" person who is physically assaulted and/or bullied for the way they dress, the way they speak, the way they move their body through space, but injustice is not this forum.

My main point through all this was to maintain that if you're going to criticize someone for the way they dress, at least admit in the end that you're not standing on as solid of a ground as you think. I would even argue so much as to say that this idea of "group think" functions in a more subtle way. It is not so much that there is an agreed upon standard, but that those standards are selectively applied and there is much more ambiguity here than maybe we want to admit.

Was I wrong to assume that this thread was less about getting feedback or critiques and more about posting what you're wearing right now? One may read that as, "oh, he just wants positive feedback and affirmation." However, this is not so. I think the value in posting in a thread such as this is to give others ideas about what to do and what not to, both of which can be decided by those people.

That being said, I appreciate your words as they have helped me to better understand this thread and the forum as a whole.

I think a lot of newcomers probably notice the thread title and just post what they are wearing, not fully knowing what they are getting themselves into. That's ok. The question just becomes the reaction to the critiques.

I would agree that some members get some earned wiggle room, but for the most part, the "rules" are applied pretty evenly over time.

Anyhow, just for clarity, I was not referring to you, or anyone else in specific, in my post. Was late and night an wanted to pontificate on a topic I like talking about.

:)

Overall this fit is ok, R, but there are a handful of feedback points I think are worth mentioning. And this is meant purely as my opinion, and in as nice a manner as can be.

1. Just too much blue in the fit. Its not a suit, so you have 3 very distinct items of the same color, and a tie and pants that are very close in shade as well. Not enough contrast, transition, or flow for me.

2. Shirt collar and tie knot are sub-optimal.

3. Top block of shirt/SC/tie/PS is too busy.

4. Pants and shoes are too casual, beaten, and rumply for the the very rigid and formal SC. They are better suited, imo, with a BD collar shirt and a sweater or something.

However, as individual items, SC, tie, and PS are wonderful. Would kop.

I'm happy with your feedback, Stich. Specially from you, a man with excellent taste.
It feels like years between any comment my dressing, so this is much appreciated.
Even thought the screen/my bad photo skills, messes up the colours, I get your point; too much blue and too much going on. I can do better than that.
