I've been a bit lazy taking some pictures but here are some shots of my OH Huddersfield navy birdseye suit.

That gorge dates the jacket a little too much for me.  I've got some like that and I figure if I wait long enough the right combination of gorge, lapel, back and shoulder'll come back in style. 

Its interesting that you say that as I find that gorge ideal and push my customers to get something closer to that than what is more the norm today.

I'm lazy- it's not just the (lowish not crazy low) gorge that dates it IMO but the combination of the cut and features including the gorge: flapped patched, brass buttoned, closed quartered, swollen edged, square shouldered blazer that just looks a little dated. I like the notch to point to just below the shirt collar gap. Low gorge accentuates my sloping shoulders.

I'm lazy- it's not just the (lowish not crazy low) gorge that dates it IMO but the combination of the cut and features including the gorge:  flapped patched, brass buttoned, closed quartered, swollen edged, square shouldered blazer that just looks a little dated.  I like the notch to point to just below the shirt collar gap.  Low gorge accentuates my sloping shoulders.

OK, those details you mention are pretty standard/classic blazer details though. On the gorge, I believe the exact opposite as you, the more sloped your shoulders, the worse a high gorge looks as it accentuates your shoulders and the gorge looks like its pulling up past your shoulder line. Anyway, just a difference in opinion.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not off them.  It's just gotten too cold for them in my opinion.  If it's any consolation, you probably won't see them again until spring.

I'm really glad you're back posting. I love the jacket, and would be happy to know the provenance of the cloth.

And on AAS' gorge, I believe it's absolutely fine, perfectly balanced. It'd need to be quite lower to date the jacket. I'm wearing a vintage Canali DB today where the gorge is much lower (it's also 6x1)
