That is one seriously blue jacket. I don't know that anything about this look works well; it all comes across as very "Vegas". I might feel differently if you were wearing a tie, or it might have made you look even more likely to burst into a rendition of "Volare".

i dont hate the color of the jacket. its bright sure, but it could be ok. as is though it does not fit well, nor is it paired well. : (

It's a look, and one I don't entirely get, but within what he's trying to accomplish, his pants are indeed too long and way too much shirt cuff is showing.

Well I'll live and learn. I think the shirt/tie/square doesn't work well, just didn't have time to change, but do you think it's bad coupled with dark/black trousers? I was going to just go with raw denim instead with a white shirt, but I thought this could work. I get the sense a high contrast outfit is not what you mean when you say it "could" work, though, and I can't exactly imagine how else it can be done in this shade unless it's textured.

It doesn't absolve me if I said I was going to a casino, does it?

Worth a shot.

What is off about the fit? I had it bespoke, so I'd like to have a better idea for next time.

Adding this to the list of Pliny neats that I heart.

along with all of his neats?

yes, its bad with the trousers. outside of a midnight dinner jacket, and maaaaaaaaybe with the right gray SC, i see no use for black dress pants in MC.

when i say it could work, i mean with the right hue of gray trousers and a light blue shirt OCBD or spread collar with a proper tie.

Just doing a driveby......garden party attire. RRL, Ascot Chang, Rooster, JLC. Mike
The Return of the Mike! Good to see you.
Hello gentlemen, What a sunny day
Pants aren't quite slim enough to stack, so they just look too long. Shirt sleeves also a bit long. Overall, I think you've slipped over the precipice from louche to sloppy.
Red tie and sweat pants
I think a university stripe would have been nicer here, G.

Thanks, guys. I am very much alive. I have been lazy as hell lately and have been going casual most of the time. LOL. I was lucky enough that someone snapped a pic of this and sent it to me. :)

Mike

How are people supposed to know that you are a ruthless, blood-sucking attorney if you don't attire yourself properly in the requisite power suit?
