Agreed. My neighborhood was covered in slush, hence the boots and khakis. I suppose washable cords would have been a better choice. Alas, those are off to the tailor for mending.

Washable cords would be same formality level as khakis (chinos).

I would suggest tailored cords instead, you will appreciate the difference.

I have been on vacation (though, as a retiree, determining what is "vacation" is a vexing question), abroad, faffing about in Spain and the UK. Since returning to the US Sunday evening, I've been attempting to recover my wits and return to a normal sleep pattern, hence, today's posting will only be "lifestyle" photographs, from Seville (the Plaza de Espana), Madrid (lunch at Deessa, the restaurant of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz), and London (lunches at Rules and the National Liberal Club dining room, dinner at Northall at the Corinthia). I thought it would be warmer today so cotton bow tie and no knitwear. Nope. Temps pulled a switcharoo. Warm in the morning and colder in the afternoon.
