Wore a suit today for the first time in a while. I've been wearing odd jackets and trousers a lot recently. Not today.

Rare to see you in a 3B IIRC Andy but of course I approve!
And that’s a good looking lid you have there which perfectly compliments the suit. I’ve seen some brimmed hats on display on SF recently with tapering crowns that result in an unflattering conical appearance to the head but the crown shape of this one is the perfect antidote!

I can't quite articulate why, but the pants read as pajama bottoms in these pictures. I agree with your assessment that the cardigan visually isolates the shirt.
I do have pajama pants that are quite similar. These are cuffed with double forward pleats. I had my tailor narrow the leg along time ago. The taper may give a pajama affect. I may have him take them back out.

Maybe because, other than the tie, it is a relatively slouchy outfit overall. It evokes an air of lounging around the house, maybe in front of a fireplace with a glass of brandy or a mug of strong coffee.

@An Acute Style note that I don't mean "slouchy" pejoratively.

Yes, it is. My 3-button suits are all winter items and it just hasn't been cold enough and I haven't been out enough to have worn one yet. And I don't think I'll even take one to Pitti next month. Perhaps I should rethink my outfit plan...

The hat, of course, is by Graham Thompson, at Optimo, in Chicago. The best there is, no comparison.

Flattering trousers, as usually.

And lovely hat.
Thank you, I appreciate that. The hat is my favorite among my felts.

I think the shoes might be the problem. A very dark brown pair might be OK, but cordovan or even black penny loafers would be much better here.

Quick & dirty, poor lighting. Wearing my holiday pocket square for likely the last day in the office (and certainly the courtroom) this year. The shoulders look weird because I'm holding the phone out for a selfie.

The pocket square is double-sided. Here is the other side:

What a coincidence, my Secret Santa gave me the exact same square last year. Going on its maiden voyage for a little holiday get together this evening, thanks Santa

So glad you liked that part of your gift.

It hits the festive spot directly. Any details for it? Likely unavailable now but worth a try.

Is that one of the new jacket finds too?
I picked up the pocket square (and one for myself) at Berlin's, a men's store in Charleston. It's made by R. Hanauer.
