I have never felt comfortable with Madras and bright colors as a whole. This is something I am working towards changing, but you sir seem to have been swaddled in Madras.

Truly an inspiration.
Thank you for the kind words. Spreading the gospel of color and pattern, one day at a time.

Thank you for exploding old canards and preconceptions as to “who” can wear madras and other classic “prep” clothes.
If you (plural) haven’t already, you should out the Jason Jules book “Black Ivy”. Very inspirational for me. I knew of many of those in his book growing up, but it’s nice to see it canonized in one place.

The weather in NYC is warm and humid - exactly the sort of weather for which I do not like to dress up, but this evening is the garden party for the Cooper-Hewitt museum, and one must soldier through as best one can. In considering my options, I went with seersucker - pre-rumpled, in this case (my only seersucker suit hasn't seen the dry cleaner in a while), with a shirt I've not worn in a very long time - my only shirt from Kamakura - and a tie bought for another garden party several years ago. Whether this "look" has come together successfully or not, I leave to the discretion of the viewer. I merely hope not to melt in the evening's heat.

Suit - Brooks Brothers
Shirt - Kamakura
Tie - Battistoni
Pocket square - Seaward & Stearn
Shoes - Santoni

Splendid as always. Tie is perfect for a summer garden party, very Hermès esque!
