I sometimes forget how much I love double-breasted jackets.

The weather in NYC is partly cloudy and mild, with a pleasant breeze, ideal for suit-wearing, which is fortunate, as I have a good reason for which to wear one - "Don Giovanni" at the Met Opera this evening. Today's suit was next in rotation, and a plain light grey suit is an open invitation for a patterned shirt, hence my choice. Today's tie is making its debut, I believe - I don't think that I've worn it before, even though I've owned it for several months now.

Suit & shirt - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Tie - London-York
Cufflinks - Saks Fifth Avenue house brand
Braces - Lewin
Pocket square - vintage no brand name
Shoes - Carmina, Buger last

I dig the hat, what’s up with the funky bed in the background?
We just finished redoing the basement, where this was taken. My wife loves these egg crates - she says once you go egg crates, you never go back. That, what you see there, is an egg crate doubled over on itself, tossed lazily on the bed frame, as we wait for the new mattresses to be delivered.
