The weather in NYC is hot and humid, but, regardless, the Met Museum is having a benefit evening this evening, and after a week of shorts, polo shirts and sneakers, it's good (albeit warm) to get back into "proper clothing". The theme of the party is "botanical black tie", hence the floral pocket square, and the evening is warm enough to forego a waistcoat in favor of a cummerbund.

The stud set is making its debut. The cufflinks I purchased some four years ago, as stores were beginning to re-open, and a few months ago, I commissioned the jeweler to create for me matching studs. They came out very well, IMHO.

Tuxedo - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt & braces - Ede & Ravenscroft
Cummerbund set - Paul Stuart
Stud set - The Persian Shop, NYC
Pocket square - Seaward & Stearn
Shoes - Broadland Slippers

Feedback for my first few fits here was I need to size up on my trousers (thick thighs, and the side profile was off). So here we are. Usually a 36inch waist, moved up to 40.

Vintage BHS olive green trousers. I’ve had them altered with a 1.5 inch turn up.

Better, or is this a step in the wrong direction?
