I feel that braces under a vest make the ensemble too bulky. It also leads to overheating.
Interesting. Even with well-fitted trousers, my body is shaped such that I'm generally not confident that side adjusters are enough to keep my trousers where I want them. So, it's either braces or a belt, and I wouldn't wear a belt with a waistcoat.

Call it inspiration or peer pressure. After many years of resisting, I finally gave the crewneck sweater and tie look a go. I really like the colors in this outfit, but feel sad for my poor tie only getting a small peek at the world. Also, these pants have officially worn out in the thigh. Anyone ever try having a pant rewoven?

I have several pairs of Tricker’s and I love them because they are so well made that they can take anything nature throws at them. Now I finally got around to buying their Stow boot in the iconic acorn colour.

Jacket: Bladen for Tweed Stockholm
Shirt: Thom Browne
Tie: Viola Milano
Cardigan: Drake's
Trousers: Aspesi
Boots: Tricker's

The colour composition is nice, but somewhat basic, it lacks the exciting moment. I only wear vee neck jumpers with a tie, as a round neck is casual and does not require any. The lapel is very thin for my taste.

I think that nothing can be done, when a fabric is worn out.

Flannel season, worn for early morning service here in the valley.. borrowed the pants from my flannel suit in my last post and mixed it with this flannel blazer, cashmere turtle neck, wool pocket square and suede loafers for a cooler day in the valley...

The weather in NYC today is seasonably cool, but sunny and bright. Out of the clear blue sky, former colleagues of mine called to arrange lunch this afternoon, for which I was uncertain as to what to wear, but, being the vain creature that I am, and to ensure that my former colleagues know that I'm enjoying my retirement, I decided to dress up a bit. The temperature was perfect for a cashmere sports jacket, a hat, a scarf, and some gloves.

Sports jacket, boots & cap - Paul Stuart
Shirt, trousers, vest & pocket square - Brooks Brothers
Ascot - Harvie & Hudson
Scarf - Johnstons of Elgin
