I think you confuse well fitting clothing with him having a good physique. He is slender and more likely to look good in just about anything. This suit however doesn't emphasize his best sides. It looks shrunken and in a pretty outdated style. Dressing accordingly to your physique does not mean that anything should be skintight/short just because you're in good shape.

Completely different body type, but still, Arnold gets it. More classic proportions usually look best, no matter your shape:

Well that is a true statement that he has a nice trim body and could wear anything and made it look good. I just thought this particular suit looked really sharp and fit well. Not too tight at all.

Gents, just started this thread, which might be of interest. I invite old hands to post their own knots. At some point, perhaps we will talk about collars and knots, but first, knots (and if you don't like FIH knots, well, you're still invited).

Today, December 21st, is both the shortest day of the year and Short Girl Appreciation Day. A former coworker (a short girl) and I went out to celebrate (with curry and carrot cake cupcakes) and say rude (but true) things about people we used to work with.

Brooks Brothers tweed jacket and repp tie, Stafford olive and white striped OCBD shirt, generic pocket square, Viyella sweater vest, L L Bean cord trousers, and (out of sight) Allen-Edmonds saddle shoes.

For those who are intersted, here's more information about Short Girl Appreciation Day.

First outing for the Steed MTM jacket. Will make some adjustments when they come back around in February but glad to have it now that it's winter and all.

^Great look. Really like the pants. By process of elimination, I'm guessing the brand is Spoon. What changes do you plan on making on the jacket?

Spoon is an semi-bespoke/MTM tailor in San Francisco.

Biggest thing that needs to be addressed on the jacket, which isn't super obvious in any of these pics, is that the sleeves are too wide and not pitched quite right (very junior level diagnosis) so there's rumpling/billowing at the tricep. Will probably also shorten the sleeves a touch, maybe let it out slightly at the hips, and for future orders add ~1cm in length. Just initial thoughts - will rely on Edwin and Matthew to guide me.

And thanks!

Love that combo, @jcmeyer. Great choice on tie too. Have had my eye on that one for awhile.

@Luger those photos really look good in terms of quality and that suit is pretty nice! I like the lapeled waistcoat. I wish I could produce photos like that.

One of my longer suit jackets. This is actually one of my newer suits. I hope to eventually replace my shorter jackets with longer ones soon.

Thanks, Wigs. And yeah, this is one of my most recent batch that Gerald managed to get finished right before they shut down for the holiday. Figured since I was coming into some tweed that wool challis was a good addition - and I like the way the blue in this particular tie goes with the jacket. Hoping they add more large(r)-scale madder/challis in the near future.
