Suit looks good. Smile next time!

Do you have forward shoulders?

I never smile in pictures...I get a lot of flak for that... even in my wedding pictures I had people chiding me for not smiling at all... Im just not a smile in pictures kind of guy... and no I do not have forward shoulders.. thanks for the words venivid!

I never understood the "smile!" comments; really nice fit btw, just a tad too much ps showing I think; I think I would have gone with simple white linen.

A smile automatically adds five-plus thumbs! Fit is grand - especially when you consider its provenance. I also, wouldn't wear dub monks with a 3p but that is nitpicking.

Im usually a white linen kind of guy..but it was a Nigerian wedding which can be very colorful and flamboyant (My people! lol) so I wanted to kind of follow that trend a little..as for the smile thing I get it.. when you are 6"9 and you dont smile it can come across a little intimidating..I just cant smile like that for the life of me..

Typically neither do I... I would never rock Dub Munks to the office with a three piece.. but for a wedding that I am not in I thought it worked..which it did.. thanks MrTRC!

Agreed, but...
...this is classic menswear.
It's only called "classic menswear" because we couldn't think of something better. It was originally "mens clothing" which is about as broad as you can get.

I think that a personal preference for classic proportions is fine and dandy, but to not accept that there are other, perfectly valid, ways of interpreting classical pieces, is rather myopic.

I'm not sure I love the examples shown either, but imo, some of the criticisms are offbase.

While current and next generations continue to evolve, some of the fits currently mocked by the mothballs will be deemed "dated", or "Old", or "Classic menswear" by the common folk some time from now. - Understand, Classic menswear as a side of the forum was perhaps not intended to shut down the stylish evolution of menswear.

Some looks are timeless. And a new, original Timeless look is created each and everyday.

If your fits aren't hit and miss, you ain't stylish, or learning a damned thing. A forum dedicated to Style implies a celebration of folks expressing themselves through their Clothes.

"Style is self expression"

Edit: @LA Guy beat me to it.

How Do You Feel About Pleated Trousers?

  • Love them, classic!

  • Occasionally, depending on the outfit

  • Prefer flat-front

  • Never wear them
