Oh, no! For the first time ever, I hate your clothes! Jacket fit/ cut not up to your usual perfection, the yellow shirt....yeesh!

I think the proportions are off. The tie is slim, the lapels are wide, and the jacket is roomy in the waist and arms. I'm not crazy in retrospect with the tie and jacket pattern. I initially had a solid burgundy knit tie on. I'm super low on clean shirts so this yellow thing made an appearance. I really need to do laundry.

@Pliny , I have taken your advice to heart and re-folded all of my pocket squares. How is this angle? I have tried to echo the angle of the pocket, rather than making a straight fold parallel to the earth's surface.

my God man, the other way! less square visible against the lapel. s'posed to angle up to echo the angle of the lapel itself.

(really it's not that big a deal)

Thanks! That's really lovely. They're out of my size, and way out of my budget, but it's still very desirable.

Thanks. It's a fairly light worsted flannel, and the tie is a slightly slubby silk. Given that we're a little bit inbetween seasons, I figured I'd break that one, I know I've sniped at shantung with tweed and flannel before, but I figured I've give a watered down version a shot. Not normally something I'd do.

I guess to 99.99% of the population it means nothing that someone's wearing slubby silk with flannel, but to me it looks.. suboptimal. The

is strong in me, but I'm trying to resist.

Called in sick today.. but had a meeting I had to bolt to. Trying on the new (to me) shoes.

White balance is off on the pants.. first pic (belt pic) is good. Cell pics. What can I say.

Discussions about the merits of the tie and the lapel flower aside, what's going on with the bottom half?!

I think those are DR-made Filsons, but as for the pants...

What do you mean? Constructive criticism welcome

Boots are Redwings, pants are just green chinos from JCrew (not SF approved, I presume?). I chose the boots b/c they need to be broken in and I thought this outfit was a little more casual. I guess this one was a miss.

They're work boots and unpressed trousers with a rolled hem, while up top is dressy, ornate, and slightly precious. You're telling two different stories.

I see, I see. Good point. Would a more appropriate shoe and a smaller cuff (I'm a cuffed, like my father before me and his father before him) fix the outfit or is it a total loss?

One of the few Braddock fits I wasn't absolutely in love with. Sweater and pants were less than what I would have wanted.

On accents:
In Texas, where I was born and raised, I was often asked if I was from Europe, or had spent some substantial time there. No idea why. This happened most frequently when I was working retail in college. No idea why this was the case--I have a fairly neutral accent. However, I got recently hired to do a small bit of voice work here not because of my real accent, but because of my ability to do a clear Southern accent. And the company I'm doing the work for, as well as the people who selected me, are Korean-Americans. So it isn't just Koreans not knowing what a Southern accent sounds like.

It is heavily drawn from Frank Underwood

A cuff ain't a roll. You get a sewn cuff on your trousers, they're going to work with anything you throw at them. If you roll them up, as you have there, then you're limiting yourself to super casual stuff.

The leg openings on those trousers are too small for those boots, too. You may have big feet, in which case you'll want proportionally wider trousers. They may just be big, clunky work boots.

I'd press the trousers, and wear them with more-refined shoes, and then you'd be more-or-less set. That said, the next navy blazer you buy should be more casual: smooth worsted and delicate pic-stitching means that one's never going to be as much at home with chinos as a hopsack/fresco blazer.
