And you can't go wrong with a dark brown suede oxford captoe for conservative suits.

Off the top of my head (I'm writing from my office), my current suits (all three-piece) are these (listed roughly in descending order of dressiness) :

I. These will be the hardest, as by most standards they're traditionally considered the most conservative:

charcoal worsted
several navy, both solid (some worsted and some woolier) and pinstripe
mid-grey pinstripe
glen plaid

Yes, I can imagine a (dark) brown captoe suede with either the mid-grey pinstripe or the glen plaid. And so long as they're darker than the navy, I can imagine that, too. I'm Having difficulty imagining suede with worsted charcoal, however.

II. These will be easier since their fabrics make them less dressy, but I don't wear them often enough to justify shoes solely for them:

light grey flannel
brown herringbone tweed
summer weight cotton tan

Currently my dress shoes are the usual suspects: captoes, wingtips, in black, brown, and cordovan.

It's definitely brown, with a blue/white check. Even though it may look like it has a collar gap, I can assure it doesn't. It's the best fitting SC I've ever found in RTW.

Thanks man... I havent measured, but they are not for the faint of heart. Somewhere between boeing 747 and 727 I think.
