In my opinion, that's a horrible jacket for you. I'm not sure what is going on, but it emphasises your hips way too much, they look to be wider than your shoulders, which is the worst silhouette possible to my eye. Also, the chest is too small and the jacket is too short.

On my tie (that arguably is very similar to Stitch's) the ribs are almost perfectly vertical, which would indicate that the tie being cut on a bias ....

diaz, cool. thanks! and yeah, i think the brush is what had me second guessing, it makes the twill ribbing much less prominent. which in a wool tie, i think is awesome. no hate to pingsons tie.

This is a little behind, but this is a great example of holding on to a strong sense of personal style while taking some feedback from the community, and it looks great.

Thanks. I don't think anyone should take every piece of advice they are given on this forum. Half of the advice is just one person's opinion vs. another's. I have thought seriously about the advice I've been given and thank those of you who've taken the time out to give it. That being said here are two outfits from the weekend. They're both very casual.

I'm not sure about buttoning the bottom button only in a Paddock coat. It's probably fine, but I think I'd rather do a true 3-button with a lower stance.

Looks fine to me, an exquisite coat for an advanced wardrobe.

Hmmmm, not bad. Perhaps it's just the pic, but that button stance looks a little low for a paddock, which is basically just a three button without the bottom button and a slightly lower stance. I'd put the buttons on a paddock higher than your example shows, not as high as a true 3-button but not as low either. This pic of the Duke of Windsor is what I think a paddock should look like:



I think something like this could look good on you; I doubt I can rock it though, cause I'm much wider.

Actually, the Prince's natural waist is between the Paddock's both buttons, thus allowing both to be buttoned. So, when buttoning the lower button, you will always have a low buttoning point, as the bottom button is positioned bellow the natural waist. Take a look at this example by Slewfoot.
Thanks, but you can wear it well too, as your latest coat already has a buttoning point very similar to what you would have on a Paddock.

Yeah, but I think I would be inclined to button both buttons most of the time. Dunno, I don't really like the idea of buttoning only the bottom one on a 2-button jacket, even if it's designed to do that.
Anyways, the thought of a paddock jacket has crossed my mind before. Might end up with one, who knows.
