Brace yourselves, gentlemen. I won that tie in a contest run by SF affiliate Ties-Necktie.com, and I'm deeply embarrassed by the fact that I didn't realize it's made of polyester until I'd been wearing it for half a day.

Things that glisten beautifully don't have to be gold... er.. or silk for that matter

What matters, is that the tie, actually the entire outfit looks great, you enjoyed wearing it, and many guys complimented you on it too.

Maybe so Louis... I have had these shoes 7 years.. and worn them to death even though the last 2 years I have not really worn them as much..might also be the angle as well being the left does not look bad.. I turned them at a weird angle when I took the pic..however you may be right being that this year I maybe wore them 4 times.. been able to upgrade and get more shoes in the wardrobe the last 5 years...
