The no loafers with suits is outdated. It was that way, but not anymore.

I still think it depends on the suit. If it's a casual suit, OK. But you shouldn't wear them with very formal business suits for the same reason you shouldn't wear flip flops in that situation...

The sleeves are now too short on this shirt. I am getting new staple shirts in September.

I believe these jacket sleeves are long... if you shorten them a bit and have your shirt sleeves end where your jacket sleeves do right now, it will look better.
