Very nice, sir. I cannot believe these photos were taken by an iphone. I've seen a lot of self iphone shots in bathrooms and they were all terrible.
Thanks, a lucky combination of light and photobucket :) + an app with a timer

I liked very much the sport coat though it almost looks like an orphan suit jacket. The pattern is amazing but I think the color makes it a bit difficult, especially with beige trousers
I think it is an SC (E Zegna in cashmere and silk) and I agree that it's hard to find pants that match. That's why I posted this outfit :) I need suggestions on colors and materials...

Want that jacketing; awesome. Any chance you know the maker/book pls?

I sometimes tease about your shoes matching your ties, but it works nicely here because the intervening suit is a light colour. That reduces the contrast vs doing it with really dark navy suits, and creates a smoother vibe. I dig.

What does one pair with these trousers?

Are they sort of cornflower blue? If so, I have a similar pair; keep them for summer, worn with a white shirt or pastel polos or cream jackets or the like. In autumn/winter, the colour jars IMO.

Don't normally pair pink & green that much, but it's a combination often found in nature, and esp. so in Spring, so experimented...

i was wondering if you would comment on that. glad this one appealed to you. :)

also waiting for @sugarbutch to chime in here about the color of my tie with a white shirt, as it was in the aforementioned list of no-nos.

I have a lot of respect for Manton's opinions, but that's just crazypants. White goes with everything, and especially a purple tie. (Or a yellow tie, but no one should be wearing those anyway...

You need a yellow tie Friday Challenge, son ...

What do people who think the white shirt is inappropriate with a purple tie suggest as an alternative? I can imagine a very pale pink, perhaps, and very light blue. Or do such folk simply say that one shouldn't wear purple ties?

Cheers,

Purple ties are awesome with a light blue shirt:

And I don't mind yellow ties with white shirts at all:
