Not the sort of shirt that goes easily with a tie or is suitable in many circumstances when you would.

I would suggest that you look about yourself in the street or wherever and form you own view from there.

Not sure any of your three really go, I'd say the middle was the best though. A solid navy would (always!) be a good choice. Can't see grey working, black wouldn't be popular on this forum, but would probably work for a more fashionable look.

Trust me if I was more well versed in style I'd respond to everyone since I know what it feels like to have your questions ignored repeatedly from so many forums...welcome to the world we live in. More for self, less for you mentality...although eventually people start responding on this forum moreso than others...just give it time ( worked for me )

Anyways...I C/s with the other member...not really a shirt you put a tie on...if you want to dress it up maybe sports coat it or wear it under a cardi/sweater

As a wise owl above has intimated - the tie must not be patterned, it must be plain.

Personally, I wouldn't wear such a shirt with a tie, but if you're going to then definitely a plain tie.

I agree, it is a very powerful shirt and also casual in nature, I agree that the tie should be as plain as possible, so I would choose the 3rd pic with the plainest tie. Match it with a good pair of dark jeans. and a rustic textured sport coat in brown or dark mustard.

Or even dark grey jeans / chinos and a dark grey tie, the tie must not be shiny though.

Shirt is indeed a bit too Loud for ties... out of the three I'd pick the middle one as it switches patterns. But I'd get a different shirt if you plan to wear ties and are not used to it. Start with the classic ones, IMHO.

These aren't exactly the same colour as your shirt, but grey appears to work according to Charles Tyrwhitt. Also a blue with a small repeating motif.
