What do you guys think of this shirt from F/W? I like brands like Kapital and RRL for their patchwork style pieces. I can't decide if the colors and prints clash a little bit too much on this shirt though.

Yeah, you're right. Looks like he's wearing a quilt. I think the fabrics used should match more so it's not so loud. Here's an example of patchwork done right IMO:

I think another reason why the rrl/kapital/junya versions look better is they are actually patchworks of different fabrics. But the gitman one is just a patchwork print.

If you're after a Gitman patchwork and that one is too much for you, there is also a navy one available this season which might be easier for you to wear (feel less self conscious?). I picked it up from DSM about a month ago and really like it. I'd have thought it should be in a few other shops now but I'm happy to post a pic up over the weekend if you like? As @jwalterweather says, it is a print rather than a true patchwork but then the price reflects that.

If its a patchwork shirt you're after, EG did some nice ones over the last season or 2 that are still kicking around. This is great and comes in blue chambray too. I picked up the scarf in the blue chambray this year. The Bureau were selling some of their AW13 EG shirts on their ebay account for really cheap recently too.

If you haven't already, take a look through the Junya thread for SS15. It's absolutely incredible. Mostly patchwork, indigo and boro fabrics. The guys in DSM told me one of the shirts was made from 40 separate pieces so you can imagine the price on those things but well worth looking at.

It's not really self-consciousness, I wear some pretty loud prints on occasion. Those patterns and colors together just seemed a little too "busy" for my own taste.

A little disappointing to learn it's a print. That takes away the appeal for me. I love patchwork style but I think I'd rather make one myself instead of getting a faux-patchwork shirt or paying an astronomic price for a designer piece. I have a pair of chinos that have slowly turned into a patchwork style because I've ripped and repaired them so many times.

Please post a pic of the version you picked up. I haven't seen that version anywhere and this thread could always use more WAYWT pics.

And WOW, some great pieces in that collection. Definitely patchwork done right!

I'm not GV expert but I think it is probably requested by the shop, just like they can order GVs with smaller collars.
