Shipping first class isn't too bad, but priority starts at like $19

to ship to canada though most companies need tracking # for liability/insurance which is why international can be $$ (express shipping).. as compared to domestic shipping where tracking is cheaper

I say higher discount...as long as you have a cheap shipping option available, like $5-$8 ground for example, then its all good. What annoys me is that many online boutiques only have one or two shipping options that are expensive, just for domestic. South Willard for example, has one shipping option and its like $18. I know I will take whatever I can get, and happily.

agreed
MULTIPLE SHIPPING OPTIONS IS VERY KEY
If I want to wait a week or two and only pay $7, compared to having to pay close to $20 for 2 day shipping, I would like that option

As long as the consumer has shipping options and you aren't losing money from them, you should allow the consumer to get what they want.

From a business standpoint, I think a discount still makes more sales than free shipping; people go to another store and see you offer the same at a discounted price, most people haven't thought about shipping yet...best of luck to you though, Mauro
