Hello everyone, I just purchased my first pair of decent shoes, and I settled on the Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue in the Dark Brown. When I went to my local AE store, and unfortunately they didn't have the Fifth Avenue in the size and color I wanted in stock. I tried on the Fifth Avenue in another color, and the sales person then placed an order from another store for the correct color/size I wanted and had them shipped to my house. The shoes arrived today, and I'm unsure about them since these are my first pair of nice shoes, so I wanted to get your opinion on the quality of the finish.
Basically, my issue is that the leather is a different color around the toe cap of both shoes. It's like this area was not treated with the same process as the rest of the shoe. It's very apparent, even when your not looking at the shoe up close. I don't know what to think about this quality, especially since I just spent $350 on these shoes. I'd understand it if I went with the factory seconds, but I paid full retail and expect a perfect shoes.
Am I being reasonable or just extremely picky?
