Hi everyone. I would like to purchase my first raw denim in the sub 300$. There is so much information online that is a bit overwhelming, and looking for an advice knowing this is likely the first and only pair of raw denim as my style is more dressy due to work environment.
I know I am looking for medium weight, straight fit.

But I don't know which brands to consider buying from?

I did not find similar thread here, sorry if this (likely) was discussed before!

what kind of advice are you looking for? You have to find the right fit for you and the rest is a matter of taste in my opinion. I would go for a regular straight fit in 12-16 oz but it also depends on your body shape and what you want to wear with it.

The brand is the confusing part. I edited the post. thank you!

Fit is the key. If you have a pair of jeans that fits you well, measure them (waist, front and back rise, thighs, knees, ankle, and inseam are the standard places) and use that as a guide if you're shopping online. Oh, and check the "How We Measure" section for the web store, since there are variations that make a significant difference. However, if you can, I'd strongly recommend going to a good denim shop and trying multiple pairs. That's harder to do if you're outside a major city, though.

As mentioned above, I'd stay in the 12-16oz range, and with a classic mid rise, straight fit, since that's pretty versatile. For brands, the above ones are good; others I really like are Iron Heart, Studio D'Artisan, Momotaro, and Oni, though they can definitely break your $300 ceiling, depending on specific model.

Fullcount 1101 or 0105
Denime 220a or 220xx
Orslow 105
Freewheelers 601xx 1951
Sugar Cane 1947 or 1966
TCB 50s
Warehosue 1001 or 800

If you get any of these from a shop in Japan they will all be under $300, some considerably less than that. Let me know if you have any other questions, I have a bunch of different jeans.
