What are your favorite colors for light men's jackets and raincoats, for city wear? I'm thinking of Harringtons, French chore jackets and Stutterheim Stockholm style raincoats. Not thinking of Barbour country waxed jackets, trench coats, and anything thicker for late fall and winter.
Is it black or navy? Stone? Something different like deep burgundy or maroon?
I was thinking that navy and stone are default classics, with black a close third. Probably charcoal too, but it depends on the specific shade of charcoal and the jacket.
French blue is a classic specific to the French chore jacket, with dark green a classic for military cut equivalents.
Deep burgundy or dark red is a less common choice that is classic in the sense of James Dean for Harringtons and arguably raincoats too. Don't want to consider bright yellow a classic raincoat color, though, above the age of 12.
You'd have your first jackets in each category in the above classic colors, then branch out into other shades of blue and others such as pastel or earth colors.
Thoughts?
