Fake.

EDIT: Or should I say:

I have always had a strong passion for luxury goods and accessories, since I was a child. I would say it came from my mother’s influence, as she was always dressed impeccably. I have been interested in authenticity and have been studying it independently since I was a teenager, but my expertise in understanding the counterfeit market grew when I was studying in Italy.

Italy has one of the most sophisticated counterfeit luxury marketplaces in the world, as they actually make bags and accessories with the same high quality materials stolen from the factories in cities outside of Florence. It is very hard to tell the difference between these fake and real items, as they are often sold in warehouses in Italy as authentic bags, and eventually circulate into the streets, shops and online. Anyone who says a luxury bag, scarf or belt is “directly from the manufacturer” is generally selling counterfeit merchandise, since it has not been created by the brand itself.

Not 100% sure but those are Zilli's tags. Looks old though. Also, that Versace looks fake as hell from here.

Yeah they've clearly seen some wear and need some TLC if I decide to keep them. I've never tried to rehabilitate python -- is that even possible?

I wasn't getting much response here so I shelled out $10 to Authenticate First (authenticatefirst.com) to get their opinion. I checked to make sure that they authenticate this brand even though it wasn't on their brands list and they do. I figured it was worth doing because of the (possible) value, plus it worried me that there was no size or serial number.

The Good: They said that it was their professional opinion that they're legit and worth $550-$700. Great.
The Bad: They spelled the brand "Zilly" in their reply email to me, causing me to doubt their professionalism, haha.

Hello,

I'd like to check for your opinion on this Wool Brunello Cucinelli coat's authenticity. It's deconstructed and arrived today from an ebay seller. Pics to follow:

Why I'm concerned:
- The buttons look a bit off, but it may be older
- The material tag says 100% leather. What?
- The fit for a medium coat is rather slimmer than I would expect. I am a 50 chest and 48 waist. I did take it to a tailor today and he can make it fit comfortably. I trust him quite a bit, due to awesome experience.
- The arms are wool inside. The half lining doesn't actually go completely through the arms. Just the shoulders. That's different, to me.

Why I'm not:
- Holy the wool is heavy, nice, perfect, and I can't compare it to anything.
- The sailor-type design is a Cucinelli staple.
- The tags do seem legit, as does the lining and craftsmanship. I have a picture of the buttonhole.
- The color is recognizable for Cucinelli and what I have seen before.

If it's real and the tailor doesn't make it fit cleanly, you can expect it to be sold on this site :)

Thanks in advance.

Wow the exposure, but you get it :) Yes yes, I need to clean my kitchen.

Thanks & best,
