The 946 is a little snugger in the heels, higher in the instep and more angular in the stout compared to the Rain.

This can mean your pinky may suffer from the harsh taper at the toes. I doubt going down in width is a good idea if you are an American D. Although it fits snug at the heels, if you have low instep, the heels will still lift.

Overall, I would still take the same size as the Rain.

Interesting. I will probably go with the standard 946 width, then.

3430 model on 2102B last
Etrusco calf uppers, Hidro Tobacco suede shaft
Millerighe soles

(Was supposed to have punched cap toe.)

I like them the longer I wear them, though I don't typically do plain toes. The soles are fantastic and I will likely use that as the default choice for future MTOs. Thinking of that Norvegese Jodhpur next.

@wurger
What last are those on? Nice MTO!

@RogerP
Your blue bals are on the 74945, correct?

I don't even particularly like suede, but these are wonderful.

Btw, I definitely chuckled at the "blue bals" comment lol.
