These are my new 062 wholecuts, currently on their way to me. There are plenty of pics of the 946 last. I believe the difference is mainly the rounded (062) v squarish chisel toe (946). If these fit as expected, my next pair with be 946 Chukkas.

You are comparing a last with one of the highest insteps (062) with two lasts that have notoriously low insteps (Simpson even lower than Forest), so yes the difference will be very noticeable. I have a high instep and the 062 works like a charm while there is no way I can get Simpson fit...

Any recommendation concerning 804 sizing vs 74945?
I have a pair of boots (4058 style) in 74945 in 6.5, I have lot’s of space available at the instep, reading some comments here it seems that I might be able to size down to 6 for 804 and it might resolve part of the instep space.

any advice?

usually the same but 804 is a tad longer (good for me since I have long toes)

Most will say EB lasts have a high instep. But their instep works for me so it really depends on your feet and the fit.
