EG width: Is the US RLPL D width equal to the UK EG D width?

My conclusion is that The Inverness "D" are in fact a true EG D width. Same with the RLPL...different last I know, but they seem narrower than the 82 E.

How much difference is there between the Inverness "D" and Beaulieu "E"? Do you wish you got the Beaulieu in D as well?

The Inverness in D is really snug, fits like a second skin. When I got used to it, I grew to like it. The shoe is so slender it almost looks too dainty on my feet.

The E is pleasantly snug, fitting much more like my C&J 337 last shoes. I haven't worn the shoe with a suit yet, but I think I will like the look.

On the whole, I think I will going with the E widths going forward.

When I am measured for American shoes using that silver measuring plate, my left food is a D and my right a D/E.

Very nice shoes, but the antiquing seems a bit too smudge-y, almost Josepidalish...

Putting this question to bed (at least for me): RLPL 888 D = EG 888 E.

When mating the left EG shoe and the right RLPL shoe, the outsoles are exact mirrors of eachother. I cannot comment on "volume" since one is a monk (Grant) and the other a lace-up (Inverness), but they feel equally snug on my feet.

The outsoles are not a reliable measure. The theory I have is that the EG 888 last shoes have a lower cut instep.

Accentuated because they are in direct sunlight...more subtle in actuality.
