Picked up on eBay a pair of vintage suede Malverns on the old 88 last. Anyone know of Latham House?

This is from another thread: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/scottish-cashmere-sweaters.83558/

‘My first cashmere sweaters were purchased on sale at half price at Latham House on Third Avenue in New York City in the mid 1980's. They were two McGeorge V Necks in Oatmeal and Yellow at half price. Well, Latham House is long gone...’

Don't beat yourself up too much, the sale was mostly hype. There were incentives that you could cash-in on a few times throughout in the year that brought the price way down. I purchased my pair of Galway's from BB for ~$800 out the door.

I missed out on the superdenim's EG dover and then 3 months later what do you know, mr porter goes on 50% with VAT removed. deals will always come.

Dropped by Saks today to pick up some shoe trees when these beauties caught my eye. I was able to resist buying them, but I might have to go back for them. I forgot to ask what the model is called and I cannot find it on the EG website — does anyone know what this shoe is called?

As for the shoe trees, to my surprise the lovely sales lady gave me a pair of EG shoe trees for free since she remembered me buying shoes recently

Berkeley’s on 202. Apologies if this breaks a rule, but this seems like the appropriate place. These will be up on EBay for a friend shortly. If anyone’s interested in a well used pair for cheap (8.5 B), feel free to PM me.

Beautiful shoes!

I understand why we have the rule on SF about using these threads to sell... but IMO it’s perectly fine to post if we have something to sell or trade, especially if providing a discount or special deal for someone on the thread.

I have three pairs of Edward Green's and I'm incredibly happy with the quality. I tend to wear my shoes in any weather and the EG's are holding up incredibly well so far.

My most recent purchase was these Dark Oak Piccadilly's that I got via Viola Milano in October. I then wore them for a week straight walking around during a rainy NYC November and they were superbly comfortable from the first wear. Since then I've worn them perhaps once or twice per week and have often walked a few kilometers to and from work in them.

Below I just applied some Saphir Renovateur after about a fifteen outings without any shoecare. Now I just need to get a pair like these in black...

The second pair of Edward Greens I got myself were these mink suede Dover's on the 202 last (from Viola Milano).

They must be close to two years old by now, I can't really remember when I got them. I've worn these a lot, especially when traveling for less formal engagements at work. The suede has actually become quite fuzzy compared to what I expected, but extremely soft and still to wear. They're in fact at least half a size too small for me, but the soft suede still makes them more comfortable than most other shoes.

Like all my shoes I tend to wear these despite rain, slush or snow and they seem to be dealing with it quite well. The leather soles may look pretty beat up, but I imagine they'll be good for about five years of regular use before they need a recrafting.
