Does anyone actually wear shoes like this?

Chukkamok? What kind of name is that? What the f**k are they drinking at the factory? This is hilarious. It's more than a name, it's a song already; the 'Chukkamok Shuffle'.

Some "Cronmok" fit pics from Google.

If I'm not mistaken, at least that top pic is of the Neumok, probably the olive version, not the "Cron-strosity" referenced above. The Neumok is an oxford on their popular 5 last, unlined, quite comfortable and, by all accounts, pretty popular (I have it in snuff suede).

I think both those guys look good wearing those shoes.

They are both fit, young, good-looking guys - they'd probably look good wearing sacks. And they'd probably look even better in better-designed shoes (whether in an SW&D or CM mode).

At least the wacky Alden's are special makeup orders placed by groups/stores.

Allen Edmonds is putting wingtip broguing on chukka uppers, doing the leather in ugly distressed blue, and slapping the whole thing on a red brick sole. And to top it all off, they name the beast "Cronmok." All on their own volition. What's next? A wingtip/chukka/monkstrap chimera?

Essentially, the Alden "franken-shoes" are being dreamt up by customers, and the AE frankenshoes are being dreamt up by management. There is a difference, sir.

Also, not criticzing the shape of the lasts here.

It's very entertaining to compliment people who wear these.

I think the etymology of the "CronMok" goes back to the "Amok," which was a fairly plain AE chukka.

No idea where the "Cron" came from.

Stupid name in any case/

What's next? I present you with AE's new line of velcro dress shoes, which they are calling the "Velmok."
