so my sperrys were looking a bit dry so i decided to condition the leather with Obenauf's leather conditioner..ive used it previously on my leather jacket and boots and turned out great...but it like smeared on the sperrys and stained it...i did it about 30 min ago, so its still relatively fresh.

From what I've read on their site, they say you shouldn't try to clean them with anything other than a suede brush. I'd try to get the stuff off, but I don't really know what "stained" means here. Much like threads about Jessica Alba, this thread is useless without pictures.

And Sperrys are supposed to look beat to hell and worn and salt-stained, it's part of the patina.

ignore the green paint and focus on the darker stains from the leather conditioner... i hope they dry up and retrun to an even color and not look stained like this...maybe i should just rub the conditioner on the entire shoe evenly to get it all darker...i was planning on that but regretted it immediately. opinions??? thanks

They're stained. I'd go ahead and cover the shoe with the oil to get a consistent look going.

I think they will look better after you do the whole shoe. go for it. What is up with the green?

They're boat shoes. They're not supposed to look new.

I can't believe, in a thread asking if your Sperry's are ruined, that the GREEN PAINT dripped on your shoes isnt the focus of your ire?????

the staining doesnt look bad to me, as said you could easily do the whole shoe and make it consistent so it doesnt look stained.
