Little about me.......

I am new reporter with an NBC affiliate. I cover everything from homicide to breast cancer marathons.

Never know what to expect when I go into work..so I dont buy nice pants because I could be wrestlin in mud for all I know.

However I have CT HK HH and TM shirts, because my upper half makes TV my pants do not.

So between %100 polyester and %100 cotton, what do you think is more 'formal'

I know the difference between the fibers: when it comes to breathe-ability and odor retention, but which is preferable in a business environment?

The pants are fine for your intended use. Most here don't wear black outside of formal events. Polyester will drape more like worsted wool and, therefore, look more business-y than low-end cotton, but it's still polyester. You should avoid polyester as a general rule, so go with 100% cotton.
