I might meet him in a few weeks again (met him a few years ago at some drunken part on the water in DC he was hosting), should I wear something silly if I do?

The proper response (for the guy called out on a frigging 3 piece suit):

"With all due respect speaker Boner, just because you are an unimaginably dull person with an unimaginably dull sense of style does not mean that those characteristics are necessary or desirable."

It would give C-span a slight bump in ratings, anyway.

Wait until somebody digs up a security video or a receipt or something. One ticket for tanning-gate, please!

Coming from the guy whose jackets don't fit? And who ties horrendously large tie knots? And wears tacky satin ties in everyday settings? I live in DC. If I ever see this guy, I'm going to tell him his clothes don't fit and that he should seek help on the forum.

Three-piece suits are actually pretty "liberal." (For lack of a better word) They were popular with the mod crowd during the 1960s. Nixon wore one during the 1960 debate, but that was a personal misstep:

Two-button and three-roll-two jackets are more trad. JFK wore them. Polo had a two-button "Congressman" model for awhile.
