Custom Denim - suggestions for details

Hi Everyone,

I am going to have a pair of custom jeans made and I was hoping to get some suggestions on details.

I am looking at a pair of dry black denim in a fit and style similar to APC NS's. My style is generally dressy so I want some subtle suggestions.

Note I can get any color contrast stitching, different shaped pockets, pocket embroidery, addtional studs, etc.

I basically want to take advantage of this being a 'custom' tailoring but still maintaining a sophisticated look.

Pictures would be great so I can show my tailor.

Thanks in advance.

I wish i had the means to own custom denim.

my suggestions
(obviously dry denim> prewashed)
-green contrast stitching
-i like button fly, but a nice talon zipper like you find on some of the older wranglers/maverick/sedgefield would also be cool
-i'd do away with the coin pocket as i never use it.
-hidden rivets
-chainstitching
-a small patch/tag sewn onto the inside of a front pocket (like on military issue items) on which to chronicle the jeans' wash schedule et cetera in indelible garment safe ink as to add a fuller sense of character to the jeans.
(also obvious, no signs of branding whatsoever)

Calden - Lined back pockets means material sewn onto the inside of the pockets?

How about material sewn on the inside at the hem so that I could roll them and have a pattern? Perhaps a black/grey paisley...

Also how about making the coin pocket in black lamb leather and perhaps even the fly cover? Over the top?

Thanks everyone, any other suggestions? I think the back pockets are a critical spot, I am leaning towards leaving them unembroidered, but perhaps a subtle design in a matching tone thread might be nice.

Yes. I think (but am not 100%) that the Levi's arcuates were originally put there to hold on to the lining. I've never seen a pair like this, but it sounds nice. I would go with no back pocket stitching. My favorite back pockets are APC, if you would like something a little different maybe consider making them bigger or longer. I don't really like the idea of a lining at the hem, but I'm pretty much a minimalist when it comes to jeans. One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post is a cloth band of material around the inside of the waist like Rag & Bone, I love that. Oh, and I second Robbie's idea of no coin pocket. I also think a blank thick leather patch would be nice.

Calden: where would the black leather patch be?

Any other suggestions guys? No slick Japanese style details?

Normal placement. I just like blank leather patches. I think 5EPs are blank right? It's kind of a pointless detail though. Just something I would get.

Hairy patches are kind of cool. I have an old pair of Hono jeans with a horse hair patch, always kinda liked the way it looked.

Remember this is for a dressy pair of jeans, ie: something to wear with a nice blazer out at dinner, to a casual business function, etc.

I'm looking for a lot smaller, minor details to make the jeans unique.
