I wanted to let you guys know that I’m organizing a GMTO C&J Harlech whiskey shell cordovan boot. See this post for more details and this post for pics of @mdubs's whiskey Harlechs from a previous GMTO.

I’m currently waiting to hear back from C&J on whether there is enough whiskey shell available. In the meantime, please PM me or reply in the C&J MTO thread if you’re interested. We need at least 12 people and currently have 5.

@Papa Doble is thinking 341, but 335 (the cardigan-4 last) and 325 (the coniston last) are great suggestions for a casual boot.

Some relatively cheap (for 'murricans) mushroom suede Skyes here. About US$407 plus shipping. I believe they'll ship via postal service on request which greatly increases your odds of not having to pay anything for customs/fees.

Not cordovan but would anyone here be interested in a brown pebble Pembroke? (Same 325 last, pattern as the Marlow wingtip)

Granjamo suggested this makeup a few months ago in the C&J MTO thread and I think it would be excellent.

We will not be deviating from the above specs.

Bombproof stuff. Brown pebble is about as durable as it gets, and so is the dainite sole. Would be hard wearing in the sun, rain, snow or sleet. Unlike the cordovan Marlow (the Pembroke's horse leather cousin), these shoes wouldn't "bloom" in the rain.

Plus that pebble grain just looks awesome

Any interest in a Pembroke in dark brown country calf (same used on Brecon, Ashdown, Bangor, Islay...).
325 last. Danite sole. Bangor is similar, but I prefer the 325 last and the medallion on the Pembroke.

It is very, very orange tan.

I will give that a try. Used collene and didn't help. Out of 4 pairs of c&j shells each had faded to some extent - however this pair faded the most. Has anyone polished c&j with brown wax?

I use C&J dark brown paste wax. Works well and I have no problems with dryness or inability to achieve a shine.
